ArcGIS Advanced builds on the material covered on the Introduction-level courses, and explores some of the more advanced capabilities of ArcGIS Desktop.
ArcGIS Advanced Day 1 leans more towards topics concerning data analysis and presentation. The course explains the benefits of the Geodatabase format, explores the more advanced functions relating to everyday operations such as Labelling, Symbology Editing and Layouts, and introduces the software's Reporting function.
ArcGIS Advanced Day 2 leans more towards topics concerning data editing and data processing. The course explains the more advanced data capture functions & keyboard shortcuts, and shows how to use the Field Calculator for smart attribute editing. It will also demonstrate the use of the ArcToolbox menus for geoprocessing, and introduce the concept of Modelbuilder for the automation of repetitive workflows.
The course is suitable for ArcGIS users with previous experience (at least 6 months would be recommended), or those who have recently attended an Introduction-level course.

This two-day ArcGIS training course is aimed at those who are new to the ArcGIS Desktop software (or to GIS), or those at a novice level. Through a combination of tutor led teaching and hands-on exercises it aims to give users confidence to use the power of GIS and ArcGIS to display, manipulate and analyse information geographically, with the result that they are able to make more informed decisions.
Day 1 covers basic data manipulation and presentation - it will show you how to use and create Map Documents and Layers in ArcMap, and how to make best use of the Catalog. You will also learn different ways of interacting with features on the map, how to define and save symbols for features, and how to present data in a layout.
Day 2 covers basic data analysis, editing and importing - it will show you how to write a query to select specific features; how to bring in data from an external source such as Excel; how to set up an attribute join to visualise such data on the map; how to create shapefiles and geodatabases; how to edit existing map features and create new ones using the edit toolbar.
The new course covers changes introduced to Food Labelling requirements by the 2011 European Directive on the provision of food information. It explains the transitional arrangements on the new rules. These new requirements will have a major impact upon the information provided on food labels for consumers. The course is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge of the changes to help food manufacturers prepare for and comply with the law.
This course is designed to provide the candidate with the practical skills necessary to create a ‘learning and improving’ IT organisation, with a strong and effective strategic direction.
While some topics are specialist in nature, others are valuable to all practitioners. Regardless of organisational role, everyone has authority, even if it is limited to personal direction.
Everyone should plan. And everyone should be contributing to, if not leading, improvement.
This course explores and explains principles, methods and techniques that can be universally used to direct, plan and improve.
This course will also provide practitioners with a practical and strategic method for planning and delivering continual improvement with the necessary agility.
This course takes up where the PRINCE2 Foundation course ends and prepares the delegates for the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination, or the re-qualification examination. The primary objective of this course is to prepare delegates for the Practitioner examination.
The course is aimed at those who are new to MapInfo™, or at those at a novice level. The aim is to give users confidence to use the power of GIS and MapInfo™ to display, manipulate and produce outputs, with the result that they are able to make more informed decisions.
