Course Overview

This course is designed to help experienced Word users automate common tasks and create end user systems. The user does not have to be a programmer to benefit from this course but any programming experience will be of value

Prerequisites

• • Delegates should have attended Word Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 or have equivalent knowledge.

  Running macros - Keys, Buttons, Events and Menus
  Variables and Constants - Declaration, assignment & scope
  Calling procedures and passing parameters
  Showing message boxes and reading button presses
  Reading use input via INPUTBOX
  Flow of Control commands (IF, SELECT, FOR, DO, WHILE etc.)

  Word Object hierarchy - Documents, Paragraphs, Range & Selection
  Setting Application Properties
  Document management and Properties
  Paragraph Properties and Methods
  Creating your own User Forms for use in templates
  Adding controls to the User Form
  Coding in the User Form
  Completing documents from the UserForm
  Automating one application from another
  Creating and amending Command Bars and Toolbars
  Debugging Macros, Breaks, Watches & Run Time errors
  Triggering Macros from Events
